Group 8
"Tick tock, Tick tock.." the clock struck five. Jane woke up, took her luggage that was prepared the night before and a letter for her parents. Jane slowly slipped the letter underneath her parents' bedroom door. Jane considered again whether she should leave.
"Yes, I should! I want to be free!" Jane thought angrily at the way her parents had treated her in the past. They did not give her love at all. They spent so much of their time working!
Jane grabbed the key and went out, locking the door silently, careful not to awake her parents. Jane stood outside, took a deep breath of fresh air.
"I'm free!" Jane thought excitedly. Jane took a last look of the house she had been living for years, alone. The bus horned, snapped her out of her thoughts. Jane ran towards the bus, smiled at the future that awaits her. Jane took a seat beside the window. She stared out the window as the bus moved. She saw the familiar towns and streets, wondering if she made the right decision. Her thoughts flew back to her parents. She wondered how her parents would react to the letter.
"I bet they won't even care!" she thought grumpily. Jane's parents were considered quite rich, they were always working hard and seldom spent time with Jane. They gave her everything money could buy but that is not what Jane wanted. She wanted love and freedom.
Jane was so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not notice someone sitting beside her. It was a familiar face, she noticed that the person was her long lost friend. They smiled to each other and chatted happily. As the guy was leaving soon, he suggested that they meet up at the motor trade the following day to have fun together.
Mother woke up and put on her dressing gown, to go to the kitchen to prepare for breakfast. As she opened her bedroom door, she saw a white envelope with a letter in it. She opened it up and read it. It read: "Dear Mum and Dad, I'm sorry. I'm leaving home. I can't stand staying here anymore. Bye bye."
Mum's jaws dropped as tears streamed down her eyes. Mum ran and shook her husband hysterically.
“ Wake up! Wake up! Our baby’s gone!” Jane’s mum shouted as she cried.
“What?!” Jane’s father shouted, jumping out of the bed. He snatched the letter that Jane’s mum was clutching and read it. He was shocked but managed to face the reality and comforted his wife.
Jane’s mum was feeling a little better so she went to the motor trade to collect Jane’s motorcar for memorysake. She was shocked to see Jane there too. Jane was happy to see the guy from the motor trade opposite the road. She was too anxious to meet him and without looking for oncoming cars, she dashed across the road.
Just then, a speeding concrete truck ran over Jane. Jane was completely flattened by the concrete truck. Jane’s mum saw the incident and broke down. She was stunned and tears rolled down her cheek as she ran towards her beloved daughter.
“No! Jane!” Jane’s mum cried hysterically as she shouted. Jane was leaving home for real, never coming back…
